I just got my learners permit, can I drive now?

If you are under the age of 18 your learners permit only becomes valid after your first 1 hour Drivers Training appointment. Your learners permit contains a section in which our instructor must sign indicating you’ve had your first lesson. You are only permitted to drive with someone 25 years or older with a California Drivers License and the individual must be seated in the front passenger seat. Make sure you verify that the owner of the vehicle has proper insurance overage.

If your are 18 or older and have you instruction permit you can drive as long as you are covered under the insurance policy of the car you’re driving and a person seated next to you must be 18 years old or older with a valid California driver’s license.
