I'm 15 years old, can I get my learner's permit?

You are eligible to get your learner's permit at the minimum age of 15½ in the State of California. The learner's permit is issued by the DMV upon successfully passing a written test. There are specific things you must do prior to getting your learner's permit.

It is a good idea to enroll into one of the more advanced courses that are offered. Six hours of training is minimal and often insufficient to develop good driving skills. Our 10 hour defensive driving course is the recommended course.
