Yes, you may begin drivers training without having a learner's permit and this is done through our Student License Program. Our school is one of the few driving schools that is enrolled into the Student License Program through the DMV. Having a student license makes you legally able to drive with our instructors. Eligibility to participate in our Student License Program is explained below.
Students that are between the ages of 15 and 17½ are eligible to receive a student license if they have completed drivers education. The completion of drivers education could be either through our school or another DMV approved drivers education course. A student license allows you to drive with our instructors only and is not a valid permit to drive with a parent or guardian. If you would like to participate in this program simply contact our office and speak to a representative and tell them that you are interested in getting a student license. The student license is issued to you the day of your driving lesson by your instructor and it's free of charge.
If you are 18 years or older you too are eligible to participate in our Student License Program. This will allow you to legally drive with one of our highly trained driving instructors to get the necessary training in order to become a safe and knowledgeable driver. This will also give you the opportunity to consult with your driving instructor about rules of the road that will assist you in getting your learner's permit and ultimately getting your drivers license. Individuals that have had their drivers license suspended or revoked by the DMV would not be eligible to participate in our Student License Program. For those individuals a special learner's permit must be issued by the DMV in order to begin drivers training.
